Meals & Snacks – Important Information
At our nursery, we are proud to have a fully qualified cook who prepares all of our snacks and meals using fresh, seasonal produce. We believe in involving the children in the menu planning process, allowing them to have a say in what they would like to see added to the menu. Our varied and nutritious menu is designed to encourage children to eat a variety of healthy meals, with fresh fruit available every day. Cooking and baking are carried out on the premises, and we strive to purchase the majority of our ingredients from local businesses, including meat from Bruce Brymer Butcher.
We understand the importance of keeping parents informed about the menus and encourage feedback to help us continually improve. Menus are changed termly and issued to parents, providing ample opportunity for input and suggestions.
We view snack and lunch times as valuable opportunities to promote social development and foster an understanding of healthy eating habits. Our team encourages the children to learn basic life skills such as spreading butter, collecting their own plate, pouring their own drink, and washing their dishes, all tailored to the age and stage of the individual child. We believe that by instilling these skills early on, we can help to develop well-rounded and independent individuals.
For children arriving from 7.30am, a nutritious breakfast of toast, cereal or yoghurt can be provided, Breakfast stops being served at 8.15am

A healthy snack tray is available throughout the morning and afternoon sessions, including items such as fruit, X Y & Z along with milk and water. Children are encouraged to help prepare the area as well as tidy up afterwards.
