Safe and Together Module Training
As manager, I completed the Safe and Together module which is designed to support victims of domestic abuse, including children. This was a full on learning process which involved approx. 50 hours of learning and an end of programme assessment.
It really highlighted to me the impact which domestic abuse has on children and how they should be seen as victims in their own right. It also emphasised the benefits of working together with different agencies to support the families and to keep them safe.
According to Police Scotland, in Scotland alone in 2020-21, there were 65,251 cases of domestic abuse reported, so it is vital that we have an understanding of how this can affect children in our profession.
